WHAT AN AWESOME BOOK CLUB PARTY!!!! And it was so much fun!
Thank you to all my members that came and enjoyed talking about the book.
At The Hear Of It by Tawna Fenske
I didn’t realize how much fun a book club can be. We talked about my blog, the book, and what we all have been up to throughout the summer. It was nice to see everyone.
I prepared a fun game and some yummy treats.
I wanted my members to be able to enjoy the book club party so I made sure I had some free giveaways which included- Popcorn, Gummy Worms, and Blind Date books.
I also wanted to create some decorations.
I wanted to keep it simple and not be overwhelming for myself or my members. Everyone loved it!
So what did we think of the book? Well, I prepared a few questions of my own even though there were questions in the back of the book. I wanted more of an open discussion instead of going around the room and putting each girl on the spot. So we just ran with it. On the other hand, I also asked each girl to write something on a note card about the book whether it was their favorite or least favorite part or even a quote. Here is what they said:
“I enjoyed the parts when it was just Kate and Jonah were together talking.” – Kim
“This book was not my usual read however, watching your best friend do something she loves was the best part.” – Toni
“I liked the book overall but thought there could have been more at the end or more drama with the ex-wife trying to get Jonah back.” Cait
“My favorite part about the book was when Jonah finally admitted to Kate that he loved her.”– S
“My favorite part is when Jonah and Kate pretended to be married. They were cracking me up.”- Clarice
“My favorite part of the book was when Kate was meeting with Viv and her ex for the first time and Jonah walked in.”– Ashlee
As you can see, this book how many great parts to it. In the end, we decided it was a good book and that it should be made into a Hallmark movie.

After we discussed the book, I created a fun Mad Lib game for the girls to do. Once, everyone was done then I would read each one and as a group decide which one was the funniest. The winners of the Blind Date was Clarice and Ashlee. Congrats Girls!!
Overall, I think it was success. We had a great time discussing this book and other books that we are currently reading. I even put together a list of four books that we can vote on for next months Book Club. I will post more about that on Wednesday.
