Two Reviews on Two AMAZING Books!

Happy Thursday Everyone!

Before I begin on my two book reviews, I wanted to let you know that I will update my November Newsletter and my Book Club this weekend. I have been crazy busy working two jobs, planning a wedding, and of course reading 🙂 I have this weekend to relax, watch Hallmark Christmas movies, and update my Blog in my PJ’s.

I felt like I haven’t reviewed a book in awhile so that is what I want to present to you today.

I recently finished Checkmate: This is Dangerous by Kennedy Fox and WOW! I couldn’t put it down. This book is a two book series and I am hoping to start Checkmate: This is Beautiful this weekend after I finish the book I am reading now.

This is Dangerous by Kennedy Fox:
First and foremost, this is the second book I have read from Kennedy Fox. I recently started picking up her books because I followed other bloggers who talked nothing but Kennedy Fox. So… I said I am going to give her a try. I was not disappointed at all. If anything, I wanted to buy ALL of her books.

As of right now, I am rating this book a 4 out of 5 ONLY because I need to read the second book of the series. I am sure by the end of the series, I will rate a 5 out of 5 stars.

I loved how Kayla and Logan’s story started. They met at a wedding and ended up becoming really good friends. Although Kayla wanted to be more, Logan kept up a wall because he didn’t want to fall in love with her. Kayla kept on pushing (or rather call him when she wants to save a dog) and he finally let her in. However, Logan has a messy past and Kayla was in foster care throughout her life. Now the two have to find a way to work through all of that…. only if she remembers. Uh Oh!

I would LOVE to give more away but I can’t. The ending left me with my eyes bulging out and I can’t wait to see what happens in book number 2. Stay Tuned!!

Logan Knight is a real life knight in shining armor.
A detective godsend in a sleek black suit has me thinking less than secretive thoughts. Brooding and mysterious, he’s the kind of guy every girl instantly notices. Between his seductive smirk and charming good looks, it’s no wonder I can’t help the way he makes me feel whenever I’m near him.
Too bad he’s unavailable—or so he says.

He thinks I’m a do-gooder who shouldn’t get involved with a guy like him. His past is messy and relationships just add to that. He insists the timing is all wrong and he’s devoted to his career, but I don’t buy that excuse for a second. I see the way his body tenses and his jaw ticks every time another guy is around me. He just won’t admit it, but I’m more determined than ever to show him what he’s missing.

I’m a devoted animal rescuer and I’ll risk everything to save them, but when a dramatic turn of events puts both our lives at risk, I’m positive Logan will write me off for good. But when he asks for my help with a personal crisis, I know it’s my last chance to finally show him I can handle anything he throws my way—messy past and all.

He might think he has me all figured out, but I’ll prove him wrong no matter what he thinks. This game of push and pull has me running in circles. One wrong move and we could both lose.

Checkmate, Knight.

How amazing right? I need to start book number 2 immediately this weekend!!

My next review is on the book The Wrong Game by Kandi Steiner.

I am almost done with this book so as of right now I am going to give it a 3 out of 5 stars. I am sure at the end of the book, it will be a 4 out of 5 stars if not a 5 out of 5.

My reasons for this is because I am mostly done with it and Gemma is no longer on my nerves. Yes, the main character Gemma drove me nuts in the beginning. She caught her husband cheating and she took the proper steps to leaving him. However, when she decided to tell him, he told her that he had cancer. He died. That is not what annoyed me. Eight months later and she is trying to move on so she decided to try this dating app and take one new guy to a Chicago Bears football game. Maybe it’s just me but does anyone else think this is a dumb idea? I understand you want to get back out there BUT you don’t want to date anyone. That is what drove me nuts. She meets a nice, sexy guy named Zach and they hit it off. Only for her to keep pushing him away. My thought is… get to know the guy… see where things can go.. if it doesn’t work out then ditch him. She had to learn the hard way but her best friend Belle proved it to her the right way. Way to go Belle!!

Other than that, I am loving this book. I love how the story line is going. I love that Gemma is a strong, independent woman trying to find her way back to dating. I love that Zach is such a sweet, family man. Belle is awesome! And that cover… WOW!! The cover of the book is so cute. It shows that the two main characters are truly in love.

If you love a fun sports romance book then this is your book.

Two season tickets.
One genius idea.
Zero interest in a relationship.

The plan is simple: a brand new, hot, preferably funny, definitely single male will fill one of those seats for every Bears game at Soldier Field. And I’ll fill the other.

I can’t think of a better way to use the season passes I’d bought for my ex-husband. I am a woman of plans, and this one’s foolproof.

Until Zach Bowen offers to be my practice round.

He’s infuriating. Presumptuous and overbearing. And absolutely, undeniably gorgeous. Any woman with a heartbeat would be attracted to him, and mine picks up speed every time he speaks.

But as I said, I’m a woman of plans — and I’m not backing down on this one.

One night. One game. And then, his time’s up.

He can try to change the rules, but here’s the truth: he can’t win if he’s playing the wrong game.

I can’t wait to finish this book. I will finish this book tonight if not tomorrow. Again… while watching Hallmark Christmas movies in my PJ’s.

I will post a new blog on Saturday. Any topics I should cover?

Have a good Friday.
