Well… Shucks!

Blogger Friends! Did you ever work so hard on a blog.. forgot to post… and then totally screw it up? Well that is exactly what I just did. I created a blog on Monday on my review of Blood to Dust by LJ Shen and then what I am currently reading now.

What a Wednesday!

Here are the thoughts going through my mind right now:

  • I can’t believe that I screwed up a blog!
  • Self-tanner is an awful thing!
  • Bridal Shower in two days!

Although my last post didn’t go through correctly, let me still give you my review on Blood to Dust by LJ Shen. Also, it took me two weeks to finish this book! (I know… SHOCKER)

I am giving it a 4 out of 5 stars. I enjoyed the story line and how Shen was going about it in the story but I hated how simple the major events occurred. I expected more of a huge twist and turns or even a “What the…” reaction! I thought the characters were great given their back story. I still will read more of LJ Shen books but with the beauty of this cover, I just expected a little more!

This cover is beautiful!

His name is Beat, and I should hate him.

Bound, blindfolded and bruised, I’m tied in his basement, waiting for the men who stripped me from clothes and humanity to collect his debt to them. Me.

His name is Nate and I should hate him, but I don’t.

I’m not supposed to know his real name, even worse, I’m not supposed to care. He is nothing to me but means to an end. The plan is simple: break free, collect the pieces of my broken soul, kill the bastards and run away.

His name is Nathaniel Thomas Vela, and I’ve never seen his face, though I hear that it’s beautiful.

Behind the rugged and handsome exterior, there’s a quiet murderer, a killer who thinks guns are for pussies and ends people with his bare hands.

His name doesn’t matter, neither does his face, but what does matter is my heart. And right now, sadly, it’s his.

Do you have any LJ Shen recommendations?

As many of you know, I have been hooked on Samantha Christy and ALL of her books! I am currently reading Abstract Love and I can’t put it down. Which usually happens when I pick up a Samantha Christy book. Let’s take a look at this beautiful cover!

He can’t save my breasts.
I can’t save his voice.

But what we can do is take the scariest thing we’ve ever faced and make it better … tolerable … dare I even say … fun.

At twenty-four and facing an uncertain future, I wasn’t looking for this.
I wasn’t looking for him.
But life never asked me what I wanted.

We come from different worlds.
He’s an artist. I’m a bartender.
I wonder, however, if this horrible bond we share is enough to bridge the gap between us.

What happens if we don’t get better?

What happens if we do?

I seriously can’t put this book down. I am not sure why I am in love with both characters. Maybe it has to do with them going through something so tragic together. Maybe they are just being friends instead of hopping into bed together like most romance stories. I don’t know what it is but I will finish this book by Friday!

So if everything goes as planned… you will get a review of Abstract Love and a glimpse into my Bridal Shower! AHHHH I can’t wait!!!

Two more months and I get to marry Eric! It is just so so exciting!

I hope you all have a great week! Enjoy this weather and keep on reading!
