Back to Love Story Weekend

Happy Friday!

I haven’t posted a Love Story Weekend blog since end of June and I am so happy to be back to it. Especially when I get asked about book recommendations all the time. So here I am!!

If you are new to my blog and not sure about Love Story Weekend— let me explain it to you.

  • Either Friday or Saturday, I will post a blog about a book recommendation to read for the weekend.
  • Sometimes I will post one but you may get lucky and get two book recommendations out of me. Maybe more!
  • There will be times that I may have not read the book but still would recommend it.
  • If I read the book, then I usually post a small review on the book and why I recommend it.
  • Lastly, I am ALWAYS open to receive book recommendations from you.

Well friends, you are lucky today! I am going to share two book recommendations for you. One book, I am currently reading. The other book, I have not read but I can’t wait to read.

  1. Unchained by Helen Hardt

I am currently reading this book and I will say this… my attention has been kept since the very first page.

Dante Gabriel is starving. What he craves is red gold—human blood. After being held captive as a blood slave to a female vampire for years, he has finally escaped. Unchained at last, he follows his nose to the nearest blood bank to sate his hunger.

ER nurse Erin Hamilton expects just another busy night shift…until she finds a gorgeous stranger vandalizing the hospital blood bank. Though her logic tells her to turn him in, she’s pulled by stronger and unfamiliar emotions to protect the man who seems oddly infatuated with her scent. Chemistry sizzles between them, but Dante, plagued by nightmares of his time in captivity, fears he won’t be able to control himself…especially when he discovers a secret she doesn’t even know she’s hiding.

2) Say You Still Love Me by K.A. Tucker

Life is a mixed bag for Piper Calloway.

On the one hand, she’s a twenty-nine-year-old VP at her dad’s multibillion-dollar real estate development firm, and living the high single life with her two best friends in a swanky downtown penthouse. On the other hand, she’s considered a pair of sexy legs in a male-dominated world and constantly has to prove her worth. Plus, she’s stuck seeing her narcissistic ex-fiancé—a fellow VP—on the other side of her glass office wall every day.

Things get exponentially more complicated for Piper when she runs into Kyle Miller—the handsome new security guard at Calloway Group Industries, and coincidentally the first love of her life.

The guy she hasn’t seen or heard from since they were summer camp counsellors together. The guy from the wrong side of the tracks. The guy who apparently doesn’t even remember her name.

Piper may be a high-powered businesswoman now, but she soon realizes that her schoolgirl crush is not only alive but stronger than ever, and crippling her concentration. What’s more, despite Kyle’s distant attitude, she’s convinced their reunion isn’t at all coincidental, and that his feelings for her still run deep. And she’s determined to make him admit to them, no matter the consequences.

Those are my two book recommendations. I can’t wait to read Say You Still Love Me! Stay tuned for my book reviews!

Before I go and enjoy this beautiful weekend, I wanted to share something with you. Recently, my cousin has been visiting my Book Room and borrowing books. Over the course of the past two months, she has borrowed around a total of 10+ books. Here is a few of the books that she has borrowed:

  • Block Shot by Kennedy Ryan
  • Igniting Ivy by Samantha Christy
  • Say You’ll Stay by Corinne Michaels
  • Happily Ever After by Kiera Cass
  • Eleanor and Grey by Brittainy Cherry
  • Abstract Love by Samantha Christy
  • Simple Wild by KA Tucker

Out of all the stories given to you which one is your favorite? Right now it is Eleanor and Grey! Until I get another good book that I can’t put down it was defiantly hard to narrow it down to one book.

Why was it your favorite? Eleanor and Grey is an amazing book and I think anyone who like a good romantic story that tugs at you heart strings should read that story. I like how their love story starts when they are in high school but they don’t really have a title to their relationship but they are what each other needs at that time in their lives. I love how it then jumps to 10 years later and they are once brought together by fate, or a dragonfly or an angel you be the judge. I love that she is now in the role of healer and she helps the whole family heal in more ways then one. I love that he realizes he still loves her and how effortlessly they fall back into their old routine with a little give or take on each of their parts. The best part of the story is the ending, I won’t give it away on here so you need to go out and get the book so you can read for yourself! All I will say is I want a sequel to it.

Did you have a second book that you enjoyed? Long Shot I read that whole book in 1 day!

What is your all-time favorite book that you have read? Can’t pick just one that is just to hard. I loved every single book Kait has recommended to me.

Why was it your favorite? Can’t pick just one, I am a reader and love to read anything and everything Kait recommends.

What book did you read that you hated? I can’t say I have hated any book that I have read .

Are you looking to read anything in the near future? I can’t wait to read Catching Caden and Benching Brady! I went a little backwards and read the 3rdbook in the series first without having the other 2 books to read first.

Well Kayla, these are some GREAT answers and I am so HAPPY that you are enjoying to read these amazing books.

Have a great weekend,

  1. Superb blog! Do you have any helpful hints for aspiring writers?
I’m hoping to start my own site soon but I’m a little lost on everything.
Would you propose starting with a free platform like
Wordpress or go for a paid option? There are so many choices out there that I’m completely overwhelmed ..

    Any recommendations? Kudos!

    1. Hi there 🙂 I’m starting my third year writing my blog and I’m still learning. Helpful hints that I have is to have fun with it, write from your heart, and never give up. I am by no means a writer, even though my goal is to become an author.
I do pay for my platform (might be the lowest one) and will probably switch it up in the next month to something more and better. The first two years were feel outs for me! Don’t get overwhelmed and remember to have fun with it! I can’t wait to read your first blog 🙂
