YAY! It is Love Story Weekend with a Halloween twist!
Fun fact about me… I hate Halloween! I decorated my house with pumpkins this year but I don’t get into the scary stuff. Now don’t get me wrong, I do love a good old school scary movie however, I will not watch the new paranormal movies. Those freak me out! Also, I always feel like something spooky is going to happen. But thank goodness, I can still curl up and read a good romance novel to keep the scary things away!
Before I get into Love Story Weekend with a Halloween Twist, I want to share my review on the recent ARC I just finished up.
The Rebel Queen by Jeana E. Mann
The Royal Arrangement kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the whole book. Then left me feeling alone because I had to wait to read The Rebel Queen. Now I just finished The Rebel Queen and again… I was kept on the edge of my seat. When I started writing this review, I wanted to really hit my favorite parts of this book.
- Everly is a very strong woman. For what her father put her through in the first book, marrying a prince, and dealing with the queen makes her very strong. Let’s not even talk about the bedroom part of it!
- Henry being Henry both inside the bedroom and as the King. But you push and push for him to just finally release his love to Everly throughout the whole book.
- Lastly, the suspense!
This series was great! I enjoyed the book from beginning to end and am excited to read more from Jeana.
Shall we begin?” When spoken by my new husband, these three little words fill me with terror and anticipation.
In private, King Henry rules my body like he rules his country—with unrelenting control and passion. I crave his orders, his punishment, his commands. Outside the bedroom, we’re strangers caught in a web of lies and decadence.
Our marriage is a sham, a business arrangement devised to save my life and secure his crown. He doesn’t love me. He loves my body, controlling it, shaming it, worshipping it. To survive the dangers at court, I need to be smart, but it’s hard to think straight with a man like Henry between my legs.
Each night, he locks the bedroom door, determined to teach me a new lesson. Obedience, patience, trust. I lie awake in bed waiting for the sound of his footsteps and the latest installment in pleasure and pain. My heart pounds when the hinges creak and his broad shoulders block the door. I’m not ready, but I can’t wait to feel his hands on me. He shoves his bowtie in my mouth, binds my hands to the headboard, and whispers in my ear…
“Shall we begin?”
Shall We Begin… Love Story Weekend with a Halloween Twist??
I LOVE bringing recommendations to you and I think I found the perfect one!
I just started reading The Gypsy King by Devney Perry and WOW! This book has me wanting to ignore my husband and just read (Shh.. don’t tell him that)! It’s about a motorcycle gang and if you have been a fan of my blog.. you know I LOVE a good motorcycle gang book. But the main reason why I wanted to recommend this book is because the cover is not romantic at all… its scary!
The former Tin Gypsy motorcycle club has everyone in Clifton Forge, Montana convinced they’ve locked their clubhouse doors and ripped off their patches. Everyone but Bryce Ryan. There’s more happening at the club’s garage than muscle car restorations and Harley rebuilds. Her instincts are screaming there’s a story—one she’s going to tell.
As the new owner of the small town’s newspaper, Bryce is hungry for more than birth announcements and obituaries. When a woman is brutally killed and all signs point to the Tin Gypsies, Bryce is determined to expose the club and their leader, Kingston “Dash” Slater, as murderers.
Bryce bests Dash match after match, disappointed her rugged and handsome opponent turns out to be an underwhelming adversary. Secrets are exposed. Truths defeat lies. Bryce is poised to win this battle in a landslide.
Then Dash breaks all the rules and tips the scales.
One kiss, and she’s fighting to save more than just her story. She’s fighting to save her heart from the Gypsy King.
This book releases on October 29th, 2019. Go get your copy and enjoy it on Halloween Night!
I should have my full review up next week.. so stay tuned!
Have a great weekend and stay warm! Fall is finally here!
