Happy Hump Day!
How is everyone holding up? Anyone else working on small projects around the house? Eric and I have been putting the baby room together, planting gardens around the house, painting the outside of the house, and refinishing up our stone porch. Also, we are getting the hospital bag ready! I am 34 weeks today and we are getting so close! We can’t wait to meet him or her!
I will probably say this in the next six weeks but again… THANK YOU! Thank you to everyone who has thought of us during this pandemic and still celebrated us! Whether it’s with a drop off gift, something sent to us, or even a phone call. We are very humbled and grateful for each and everyone of you.
Let’s move on to some books!
Southern Comfort by Natasha Madison
Review: 5 out of 5 Stars
If you haven’t already, read Southern Chance first. That book will gut you with so many emotions and prepare you more for Southern Comfort.
I honestly don’t even know where to begin. However, I am loving Natasha Madison Southern Series and I can’t get enough of them! Anyone else?
In Southern Comfort, we meet Olivia and Casey. Both are running from their past life but in clearly two different ways. Olivia is running from much worse and Casey is just running from love. However, they both can’t control their emotions and feelings for each other.
Just like the first book, I read Southern Comfort in one sitting. I couldn’t get enough of an up and down emotional roller coaster ride, the raw emotions that they both were feelings, and the crazy, suspense that was following Olivia.
Buried secrets never stay hidden in the South.
When you find out that your fiancé is arrested for swindling over ten million dollars from his clients, you do what any sane woman would do. You escape reality and go undercover, trading in your city-girl Louboutins for country-pumpkin cowboy boots.
It wasn’t a forever change—it was temporary. I only had to stay here until things back home got straightened out, or so I thought.
I was riding horses before I was walking, or at least that was what they told me. I always knew I would take over the family farm. It’s in my blood.
Country boy at heart, the minute I saw her dragging her luggage up the gravel driveway I knew she was out of my league.
I shouldn’t have started anything with her, because I knew she was just passing through.
I couldn’t stop it, I fell in love with her. Even though I knew, in the end, she would leave me.
I know right? Sounds good huh?
I am currently reading From Here To You by Jamie McGuire. It is taking me some time to read it but I am also not wanting to rush through it. Eric and I have been doing house projects and getting baby ready. I read mostly at night since I am still currently working throughout the day. I should finish it by the end of this week. Stay tuned!
As Darby Dixon sits in a tiny Texas church bathroom on her wedding day holding a positive pregnancy test, she realizes that of all the bad decisions she’s made in her life, marrying her abusive fiancé would be the worst. She’s never been able to stand up for herself, but she’ll sure as hell stand up for her baby. With just the cash she has on hand, she runs to get a bus ticket to the farthest place she can afford. Between her sheer grit and pageant-queen smile, she lands a job as a front desk clerk at the Colorado Springs Hotel. It’s not a glamorous life, but she and her baby are all that matters.
A former Marine, Scott “Trex” Trexler has worked in the most dangerous, corrupt, war-torn places on earth. Now he finally has a chance to return to the last place he’d felt at peace–Colorado Springs, Colorado, to take a new job with the Cheyenne Mountain Complex, a top-secret military installation buried deep within the granite.
The moment Trex walks into the inn, Darby knows he’s dangerous. There’s no way she wants to get involved with another man who seems to be keeping way too many secrets. As charming and devastatingly gorgeous as Trex is, he clearly isn’t telling her everything. But as wildfires rage on the mountain and Darby’s ex-fiancé shows he isn’t so willing to let her go, both she and Trex are soon to find out that what you don’t know absolutely can hurt you.
Enjoy your week and stay safe everyone!
