Baby and Books

Happy Friday!

I haven’t posted a blog in ten days! With the baby coming any day now, I have been working my butt off making sure everything is prepared and ready at work and in my house!

Baby Update

I am 39 weeks and two days pregnant! We are very excited to meet our baby but patiently waiting for him or her. The doctor gave us the option to being induced but we declined. As long as the baby and I are healthy then he/she can stay in there until 40 weeks. But next week, we decide what day or date to be induced.. unless Baby B has other plans in mind.

However, as much as I love having this baby inside of me and kicking and moving non stop, I am ready for him/her to come out. I want to sleep comfortably (not roll a watermelon around) and I also want to stop with all these SWEETS! We currently have a cookie cake, gobs, cookies, ice cream, and popsicles in this house!

Anyways… any day now! 10 days or less and family of 2 goes to family of 3. I will keep you all posted!

Book Update

Since I have been so busy, I haven’t had time to sit and read a book. I have been only getting a few chapters in a night.

I finished Breathless by Lex Martin. I loved everything about the book. It was cute and an easy read but again, I love how there was a twist thrown in there that I didn’t see coming.

5 out of 5 stars

The next book that I started reading (wished I had more time to actually read in one or two sittings) was Half Truths by Claire Contreras.

This book was great! It is so different than my usual sappy love stories. This one was mystery and suspense straight from the beginning. Even at times, I was little scared because I kept on picturing men walking around a campus in black or red cloaks. CREEPY! But the story lined from page 1 kept me wanting to read more!

You’ve heard of these groups – the secretive ones that only the crème de la crème are invited into, the ones outsiders speculate about for centuries – I’m the second in my family invited to attend, but to them, I’m fresh meat. New blood. New money, too.

They think they’ll elbow past me, that I’m here for their amusement, for them to walk all over, they’ll find out soon enough that I’m not.

I may look like one of them, with my designer bags and clothes straight from the Parisian runways, but I’m not. I’m here for answers, to take revenge for blood spilled on their centuries-old Persian rugs.

I transferred here in search for answers about what happened to my older brother, who hightailed out of here, and my friend who seemingly disappeared into thin air. I certainly wasn’t here for the attention of the star hockey player, regardless of how much he willed my eyes his way. I wasn’t here for his scrutiny or his judgment or to read into his mysterious aura. I was here for the society, because only they held the answers I needed. That was, until I found out that in order to get those answers, I needed to to go through him. He’s saying if I want in, I have to play by their rules, follow their lead.

It’s a game I’m willing to play.

I may be the second person I know of to be invited into their society, but I’ll be the first to make it out intact.
